Area Health Educations Centers (AHEC) Scholars Program where students will serve for 2 years to complete 40 didactic and 40 clinical interdisciplinary healthcare training hours per year.

I currently serve as a Research Assistant at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville within the Department of Nutrition. I have presented and developed my own independent research project under the mentorship of Dr. Sarah Colby PhD, RD in the Research on Eating and Activity for Community Health (REACH) lab. My research focuses on learning more about the experiences of adults with Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD) and their relationship with food and nutrition. My research includes in depth interviews to collect qualitative data with a goal to contribute to the limited research surrounding this topic. I presented my findings at the Exhibition of Undergraduate Research and Creative Achievement (EURēCA) in spring of 2024 and prepare to submit my work for my first publication.

I am a keyholder and in addition to role of sales specialist which includes money handling, customer service, inventory management, and continued education on products and distribution, I contribute meaningfully to planning, organizing, and hosting community events by using effective marketing and communication strategies. These events often cater to the community where we raise funds for the community in need and include events such as toy drives, Shop With a Cop, and charity auctions.

I served as a nutrition/formula technician. My responsibilities included placing and monitoring patient meal orders for safety and accuracy. Assisting with preparation of patient snacks/meals. Working with an interdisciplinary team to modify orders as needed to fit patient needs. Accessing and placing orders through GEMserve software. Documentation with Meditech EHR software. Preparing, delivering, and charging formulas appropriately to patients. Working under the supervision of the Clinical Nutrition Director and Registered Dietitian Nutritionists to provide nutrition/formula educations to patient families as needed.
