I worked in the Securitas Alert Center for the summer season of 2012 as a summer employee. My duties consisted of responding to any situation, which had resulted in an alarm, such as breaking and entering, fights, robberies and other violations. I worked from the Alert Center, delegating missions to on-the-ground patrols. I also had to work very closely with the police and fire departments, since many cases demanded the co-operation of different officials. Before I could take the job, I had to complete a week long training, which gave me the approval of the Finnish police force to work as a certified security guard (even though I worked from the Alert Center), as well as the mandatory use of force training.

Nigeria

I went to Abuja, Nigeria to work as an interning visa officer / it-support specialist, for a part of my vocational studies while studying in HBC.Daily duties included interviewing candidates for Finnish visas, background checks, scanning for forged paperwork and passports, and helping other employees deal with computer related and technical problems.The work there also included a 3 day project in Lagos, Nigeria, where the Finnish embassy worked together with other Nordic Embassies to hold a major event, Nordic Spirit in Business and Culture. During this event, I worked as the main IT-specialist, making sure all displays and speeches worked without malfunctions.

Working with challenged children (autism, dyslexia, aphasia and other linguistic disorders) and helping special education children of all ages with basic school work. I also worked as a substitute teacher and ran after school clubs for children.The work I did was divided among many different schools located all around the Helsinki Metropolitan Area.

I worked as a mover and a furniture installer for a couple of years. The work was extremely physical and exhausting. I was employed in 2 companies at the same time, which is why I usually did the moving business during weekends and evenings.

I worked as a lifeguard in Töölön urheiluhalli mainly during the summer, but I also did shifts at other times. I did mainly evening shifts and some weekends, because I was working elsewhere at the same time. Duties included keeping an eye on swimmers and making sure everything was all right. I had to pass the lifeguard physical test so that I could work as a lifeguard.
