At the Brennan Center for Justice, I provided the Justice Program with research and writing support for a variety of projects including reports, issue briefs, analyses, and news releases.

On the National Advisory Board, I helped plan Students Demand Action national strategy, campaigns, and initiatives; set national recruitment and voter registration goals; managed trainings on college campus organizing, messaging, and lobbying; represented the organization to local and national media; and served on the Survivor Committee and the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee.

As the primary instructor in Honors 135: Guns in America, I designed a course syllabus, weekly lesson plans, and assignments each relating to a different feature of guns' impact on American culture and political discourse.

With Arnold Ventures, I drafted memoranda on truth in sentencing and second look sentencing; researched and developed visualizations on state-level probation and parole data; and assisted in inventory reviews and other administrative tasks.

As a group lead for America Reads at the University of Michigan, I provided guidance to a group of six student tutors. I assisted tutors in developing lesson plans, engaging with their students, and overcoming literacy obstacles.

As a traditional tutor for America Reads, I developed lesson plans to assist bilingual elementary school students in Detroit reach on-level reading proficiency.

Throughout this internship, I was tasked with tracking priority Senate elections for media hits, town hall and constituent engagement activities, and relevant votes and policy statements. I also had the opportunity to attend the annual Grassroots Managers Summer Conference where I expanded my knowledge of grassroots organizing, volunteer recruitment and engagement, event coordination, and legislative advocacy.

At this internship, I drafted materials on augmentation in federal prisons, immigration, and capital punishment to be distributed to initiative partners and policymakers. Additionally, I conducted research on prosecutorial discretion, privacy rights, and campaign finance. I was also given the opportunity to attend and create reports on events on the Hill.

Recruited and organized volunteers for the special election in Oklahoma House District 75 in support of the Democratic candidate: Karen Gaddis. Helped to contact over 7,000 voters in a month to secure the victory of the first democratic candidate to run for the seat.
