Worked specifically on the COVID-19 team to analyze nasopharyngeal samples and provide results to patients within a 24-48 hour turnaround time. Skills utilized in this position: proper handling of biohazards, sample aliquoting, purified RNA extraction, single column extraction, ddPCR, thermocycler and reader maintenance, buffer generation, and use of SalesForce to receive samples, record data in batch tables, and link results to patients. During my time at Biodesix I also conducted a large organizational project for R&D. This project involved going through 2 years worth of samples in order to combine, sort, and digitally record positives, insights, and negatives. I was also tasked with transferring 10+ SOPs from an outdated format to the current layout in use. This involved adding new sections, definitions, acronyms, references, and taking out unnecessary information.

Working at Linville Ridge Country club was an absolute pleasure. I formed many great friendships with the coworkers and members that I had the opportunity to meet. During my three seasons at Linville Ridge I was a two time recipient of two scholarships that were funded by the members themselves (F. H. "Sammy" Ross, Jr. Memorial Scholarship and the Gary "G. J." Johnston Leadership Scholarship). These scholarships helped immensely in paying for my tuition at Appalachian State University.
