I work PRN in the Glencoe Hospital Urgent Care seeing a wide variety of all ages and backgrounds.

Urgent Care/ED Provider

As a CNA for the mobile unit, I managed the immediate health, safety and needs of patients while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team. I gained valuable experience working in ICU, heart and vascular, neurology, gen med, general surgery, and IMCU. My role at Meriter required me to be very flexible and open-minded, as I would be pulled from one unit to another on the same shifts depending on staffing needs. In addition to aiding in direct patient care, I also assisted the nursing education department in creating instructional videos for future employees, and was a valuable team member who was designated to orient new employees to different units of the hospital as they were hired.

I worked in the Eldridge Laboratory I contributed to the investigation of the long-term effects in Lung Disease of Prematurity, or Bronchopulmonary Dylsplasia (BPD) in both human and animal modelsAiding the efforts of the group allowed me to have presented work at Experimental Biology 2014 (San Diego, CA), UW-Madison Cardiovascular Research Center Poster Symposium (Fall 2014), and Experimental Biology 2015 (Boston, MA). Published in the FASEB Journal April 2014 and April 2015, abstracts 715.2 and 1017.6

As a tour guide (and later captain) for Dells Boat Tours, I was responsible for accompanying passageways on two entirely different tours of the Wisconsin River; a 2 hour, narrated tour of the Upper Dells of the Wisconsin River, and a 1 hour tour of the Lower Dells. Throughout my tour, I would provide dialogue regarding the rock formations in the area, keep guests entertained with cheesy jokes, escort passengers on 2 separate shore landings, and serve as a resource for questions on the area.

Stressing customer service, I was responsible for the well-being of the front end of the store. Duties included bagging and checking groceries, returning carts, facing shelves, customer assistance, and cleaning/general upkeep of the front end of the store.
