On real-time basis, contribute strategies to improve packing and safe transport of artifacts.* Handled and inventoried 60,000-piece collection that comprises such ancient artifacts as works on paper, human remains, pottery, and items made of stone, metal, wood, leather, glass, and other materials. In this internship experience at one of the country’s preeminent museums of American Art, I worked directly with the Whitney Museum’s Manager of Rights and Reproductions. My primary role was editing and preparing high-resolution digital images using Adobe Photoshop for Whitney publications, Whitney staff, conservators, and peer institutions as well as academic and commercial clients. Additional skills and contributions included:* Creating, editing, and maintaining object and exhibition entries in The Museum System. * Assisting photographers in documenting exhibitions, including “Jeff Koons: A Retrospective” as well as permanent collection objects.* Digitizing and cataloguing photographs, transparencies, and negatives of Whitney exhibitions from 1930 to present.* Collaborating with staff from different departments and providing curatorial support.Throughout the internship experience, I was afforded access to a wide range of American art on display and in the warehouse (from Warhol, Pollock, and O’Keeffe to Hopper, Adams, and Wyeth).
