I am semi-retired and doing a little consulting at 21PSTEM.I am looking into Rust, but still enjoying the rich tool-set provided by Rails.I have an MBA, and can understand business concerns.History: I have been a programmer since the late 70's, Web developer since the late 90's. Started with Fortran and Assembler, went to COBOL, then became a Certified Microsoft Solutions developer specializing in Distributed Network Architecture (Web DNA), did Java for many years, and have been a Ruby on Rails developer for many years. I love automated testing for Quality Assurance. I am liking the trends in functional programming and temporal databases.Technical History: I have experience in full life cycle and full stack Web Site development. I am highly skilled in DHTML (HTML, XHTML, CSS, Javascript (Pure, Prototype/Scriptaculous, jQuery, bootstrap). Since 2010, I have been focusing on the Ruby on Rails platform as a back end, and am also ramping up my HTML5, CSS3, Javascript, jQuery and mobile skills for that platform. I have a lot of experience with Relational Databases (used to have DBA level skills for MS SQL server, plus experience in Oracle, PostgreSQL and MySQL. I have used R for analysis of data. I played with Scala a little bit, and love functional programming.Specialty: Working with End Users, Business Analysts, Designers and Usability Specialists to create great websites using my HTML/CSS/Javascript, Ruby on Rails, SQL and Mongo database coding skills.
