Taylor currently serves as the Manager of Government Relations at the Austin Chamber of Commerce, focusing on advancing advocacy efforts at the city and county levels. Her professional background encompasses a robust blend of legal expertise and policy influence.Taylor graduated with a J.D. from SMU Dedman School of Law, where she distinguished herself through exceptional academic performance and active involvement in various legal and community organizations. Her leadership roles included serving as Co-President of the Black Law Student Assocation and as a member of the Dallas Women Lawyer Association 2022 Leadership Class. Taylor spent her 1L summer as a Law Clerk for Magistrate Judge David L. Horan and as a Legal Intern with Public Rights Project. During her 2L Summer she served a law clerk for Zinda Law and Kessler Collins. Before transitioning into government relations, Taylor gained valuable experience as a Legislative Correspondent for the late Congressman John Lewis in Washington, D.C. There, she managed the congressman's intern program, drafted constituent policy letters in collaboration with counsel and legislative aides, and monitored pressing legislative matters.Taylor's commitment to public service is underscored by her participation in the Aspen Institute’s Socrates Program, a prestigious forum bringing together emerging leaders to engage in expert-moderated dialogue on contemporary legal issues.
