What isn't account management? Days pass quickly with varied tasks ranging from emparting strategic vision to client meetings, providing direction to my account partners, social media management and news writing, just to name a few. The end goal is always the same – expertly deliver client messages.

Building client relationships and building team management skills was the name of the game as an account executive. Through this role I walked the line between account support and account lead, honing my skills in both tactical collaboration and strategic direction setting.

Equipped with the confidence that only comes from getting your hands dirty, I spent my time as an account executive soaking up as much knowledge as possible from my account leads while also working to set myself apart as a thought leader and self-starter. I executed tactical PR materials for my accounts while also contributing to strategic direction with the guidance of my account leads.

Starting at a PR firm is an intimidating process. As an account assistance, I merged into the fast-paced world of agency life. Through trial, error and adaptation, I gained both skills and confidence in my decision to pursue a career in PR while uncovering what tasks and accounts sparked personal and professional joy.

During my fourth year at Auburn, I worked in the Director of Athletics reception and file areas.My responsibilities were as follows:•Greeting guests and accommodating any requests or questions•Answering calls to the office•Filing documents•Creating nametags, labels and other documents•Editing and creating spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel•Maintaining the appearance of the reception area•Mailing documents and other parcels

For two years I was a member of the team in the First Year Experience office at Auburn. I specifically worked with Auburn's freshman orientation program, "Camp War Eagle."
