I once was an intern at KIRO-TV at the start of Operation Desert Storm for the 11pm news (with Aaron Brown). While scud missiles were being fired from Iraq, I began cold-calling Israel, hoping to find anyone within range of the attacks. I found one right away and we arranged to do a live phone interview to lead off the news that night. It actually scooped the networks as well as every local news station. We continued these until every other station started to copy it. Soon after, I was hired as Overnight Assistant Producer.My first writing job was at the Northwest Nikkei, a community newspaper. From there, I became Broadcast Liaison at the 1990 Goodwill Games in Seattle, working the Track & Field and Cycling events, before my time at KIRO-TV.In 1994, I helped start (and coin) Yolk magazine and became its Editor in Chief. During this time, I was also Associate Editor of KoreAm Journal. Years later, I served as Producer and Host at Radio Korea, and Senior Editor of Asia InPlay magazine. Also served many years as the proofreader for the Motion Picture Editors Guild's magazine, CineMontage.Among the ad agencies I've toiled at: David&Goliath, Eclipse, K&L West, Terry Hines, Team One, PanCom, and BBDO West.
