Cto And Co-Founder
TCPoly is the world’s first supplier of 3D printed parts made of heat conducting plastics for the electronics industry. We use our innovative materials to print heat sinks, heat exchangers, and electronics casings in unique designs optimized for weight, cost, and thermal performance. Our technology extends all the way from the filament (10x higher thermal conductivity than any competitor), to the print algorithms (3x increase in print rate), to the end parts (heat sinks that are 50% lighter). We work with customers to design parts that add value, are cheaper, and more integrated than their current components and offer prototyping as well as production 3D printing.
Director Of Applied Research
Worked on advanced glazing initiatives, including vacuum insulating glazing, building integrated photovoltaics, electrochromics, and framing.Lead efforts on carbon accounting, embodied carbon, and environmental product declarations. Used building energy modeling to identify opportunities and insights into new construction and retrofits.
Manager At The Heat Lab
Managing the Heat Lab, a thermal measurement and design lab with 24 participating faculty and more than 30 measurement tools. We work with a number of tools to measure thermal conductivity and design materials with unique thermal transport properties. The Heat Lab performs a wide range of work from large multi-year government projects to single sample thermal conductivity measurements for industry. Find out more at www.heat.gatech.edu
Phd Student
NanoEngineered Systems & Transport Lab - School of Mechanical EngineeringI work on synthesizing and characterizing organic materials for thermal management applications and better understanding the funadmental mechanisms of thermal transport at the nanoscale. Some of the materials I make include polymer nanofibers, carbon nanotubes (CNTs), and polymer-CNT composites.I have also worked as part of a team developing a new energy conversion device that can generate photocurrent using a rectification process. These rectenna devices use carbon nanotubes to create a combination of a nanoscale antenna and diode which is capable of rectification at optical frequencies. In addition to material synthesis I have worked to develop several photothermal characterization techniques including time domain thermoreflectance (TDTR) and the photoacoustic technique. Using these techniques has helped us understand the thermal conductivity, thermal boundary resistance, and contact resistance of thin films as well as thermal interface materials.
Automotive Engineer
I worked on a variety of research and development projects for major auto companies as well as government agencies. Completing 20 different projects including alternative fuels evaluation, emissions measurement system design, engine emissions testing, aftertreatment durability testing, emissions controls development, and emissions regulation research. I worked with a wide variety of engineers, technicians, and chemists to conduct projects, with several exceeding $1M in funding. Also worked on tight timelines to deliver critical data and developments to clients and automating 24/7 testing to increase productivity.
Research Assistant
IC Engines Lab - School of Mechanical EngineeringDesigned, developed, and fabricated a new device to measure particulate matter emissions from diesel engines through elastic laser light scattering.
Undergraduate Research Assistant
Laser Spectroscopy Lab - School of Mechanical EngineeringWorked in the combustion laser diagnostics lab on developing new non-linear laser diagnostic techniques for laser spectroscopy.
