Responsibilities include:• Requirements elicitation as well as ongoing requirements verification.• Ensuring team performance meets required quality levels and set timelines.• Contributing to project plans and creating configuration management plans for new projects.• Contributing to business improvement projects (Specifically around project governance).• Designing assessment and audit criteria for ongoing monitoring of implemented processes and procedures across Eskom Generation sites.• Analysis, reporting and presentation of audit results to senior management.• Development of standard templates to improve business efficiencies.• Facilitating the use of change management procedures to implement changes.• Ensuring control of project documentation within the required document management systems.

Technical CM consulting to the Medupi Project: Performing Quality Assurance; Change Management, Review/Authorization as well as contributing to Processes, Procedures and Planning. Responsibilities include:• Providing quality assurance, ensuring integrity of plant equipment and documentation.• Performing verification and validation of designs.• Verifying the completeness of document deliverables.• Finalization of documentation metadata in the document management system.• Identifying configuration risks as well as mitigating and escalating as required.• Managing both field changes and engineering changes.• Report on Configuration status on the project.

I worked on gas power generation projects including both green-field and brown-field projects. I was also a team member on refurbishment projects at Tutuka power station (a coal fired power station). This role included the following responsibilities:- Project planning and coordination: I compiled and maintained the engineering project plans for a number of projects, this included coordinating all change requests to project plans during the project lifecycles.- Project risk analysis: I was responsible for chairing risk sessions such that engineering risks could be identified, documented and managed according to the required project governance.- Requirements management: I was appointed the implementation manager for the new “Define and Manage Requirements” process in the business and was responsible for eliciting and tracing requirements for each of my projects. I also performed reviews for other projects regarding the use of the new requirements management processes in the business.- Reliability & safety engineering support: I was responsible for specifying the reliability and safety requirements for the project and ensuring that reliability and safety assessments were used during the engineering design.- Design reviews: I was the lead for my department on projects and reviewed all end-of-phase documentation, and attended all end-of-phase meetings to close and baseline designs.- Tender documentation: I was responsible for documenting my department’s requirements on tenders and was appointed to sit on tender evaluation committees to select contractors.- Technology & Systems: I was responsible for the set-up and administration of Microsoft SharePoint sites. I also developed a number of data collection templates for project teams throughout my career, including the use of Visual Basic coding in Microsoft Excel.

I was the implementation lead for two processes within the business (Requirements Management & Design System). This role included the following responsibilities:- Managed and coordinated the implementation of training: I updated training material for the processes and was responsible for coordinating resources and presenting training sessions to the business.- Project governance and change management: I lead an assessment team to evaluate the implementation of the new processes within the business. I presented my results and recommendations to management and my report was used to score departmental performance. The report was also used to highlight any problems in the processes so that they could be refined by the process owners.

I joined Eskom under the System Integration department and began a tailored development programme in the department. This included the following:- SmartPlant/SAP/CURA System training- On-site development programme including detailed courses on the operation of power stations.- Support role for Lead Design Engineers on Projects, which included compiling documents and helping with the administration of project documents.

Research into the Platinum mining sector of Southern Africa.Specific focus was put on the reasons for the gap in predicted platinum output at the four major Platinum producing companies, compared to their actual output.My research paper was presented at the 5th International Platinum Conference 2012 "a Catalyst for Change", hosted by the Southern African Institute for Mining and Metallurgy.
