I created TCHD quite simply because I know we can and should create better care home environments. The environment is a powerful and under-used medium for improving mental and physical health and well-being, particularly in a dementia care home setting.Care home design typically take one of two approaches to the environment; Hotel style - attractive/uneffective, or utility style - effective/unattractive. Neither is particularly satisfactory, both are a compromise. My approach brings together the best of both, creating attractive AND effective environments that meet everyone's requirements.Operators are often held back by FUD - fear, uncertainty and doubt - over the right approach to invest in. My job is to dispel these doubts by providing reliable reasons for every strategy, product, design, image etc, bringing everything together in a cohesive plan, tailored to each property for maximum benefit.
