As a 2nd, 3rd and then 4th-grade teacher for the Pocatello School District I applied progressive teaching methods and principles to classes of 20-30 students, improving standardized test scores. I developed interesting course plans to meet the academic, intellectual and social needs of my students. I presented and implemented interactive learning mediums to increase understanding of student materials. With my additional training in organization, I established and enforced rules for behavior and procedures in order to maintain structure in the classroom. I have always excelled in teaching English-Literature and Language Arts to diverse groups of students. I developed effective learning centers for reading assistance. I created targeting for various types of learners to balance work time with opportunities for students to observe, question and investigate. I established clear objectives for projects while communicating with students and coworkers, achieving a total understanding of grading rubrics and overall class expectations. I have always regularly communicated and informed parents about student issues and course weaknesses as well as strength areas.Teaching is the best profession for collaboration - teams of dedicated teachers, assistants, administrators and parents come together to create real progress in individual children and their communities. As a Human Resources and Personnel Coordinator for both School District 25 and Kraft Foods I maintained private personnel files, processed payroll, administered wellness programs and processed staffing changes. I dealt tactfully with public agencies and individuals to meet personnel needs and addressed administrative concerns while maintaining records and abiding by local, state and federal privacy laws. I arranged scheduling and training for personnel at all levels, educated staff on employee benefits programs and acted as liaison for the on-site nurse and maintained inventory related to the nursing and administrative departments. I processed workers compensation claims for both organizations and was a point support person for benefit inquiries and assistance.
