  • Sleepy Giant
    Director Of Marketing Communications
    Sleepy Giant 2011 - 2014
When Sleepy Giant moved to evolve from a back-end GaaS (games-as-a-service) provider to a full-fledged game franchise developer and producer, I was brought on board to build a marketing department and establish goals, process and staffing procedures around the new corporate direction.I led the creation, production and Implementation of consumer and corporate marketing, PR, and monetization strategies for 13 PC and mobile games. The partnerships I managed included Activision Blizzard, SeaWorld and Margaritaville which resulted in 3 new game launches. I developed and oversaw execution of co-marketing promotions with major retail partners including Coca-Cola and Wendy’s. I was also appointed to the “Greenlight Team” for evaluation and approval of new revenue opportunities. One of my favorite projects was the launch of the first ever national promotion featuring a free-to-play app in a QSR Kids’ Meal. The success of this project resulted in generating an 8.5% conversion rate for a free-to-play game when the industry average was 1-5%.
  • Ynk Interactive (Now Playwith Interactive)
Director Of Marketing & Business Development
Ynk Interactive (Now Playwith Interactive) 2007 - 2011
This Korean-based video game company aimed to break into the US market, and I was hired as one of the original leaders to establish and lead the marketing, business development and community management departments of the new subsidiary. As such, I developed and executed all global brand strategy, marketing and communication plans. I also served on the executive steering committee providing corporate guidance based on trends, competitor movement and opportunity discovery. And I was the chief customer-facing representative as lead community manager.During this time, we launched and operated 4 free-to-play MMO games, an online game portal and our own proprietary global payment option. Due to the fact that “free-to-play” was a new revenue model concept to the West, I met the challenge of being the first marketer in the US to launch a paid marketing plan for a free-to-play game.As a result, we acquired 2+ million users with merely a $15k budget through online and event marketing, partner initiatives and co-marketing. We generated $12 million in revenue in the first year, resulting in tripling of staff and multiple expansions of the games.
  • Aaa
    Marketing Manager
    Aaa 2001 - 2007
    Us
My focus was leading advertising and promotions for the insurance and travel products (including several new launches) with marketing budgets of over $7 million. I managed the creation, execution and constant measuring and refining of profitable CPL and CPA models. Lead generation programs included brand and direct response marketing programs in print, radio, television, mail and online. Having a strong background of advertising agency experience, I worked directly with external creative agencies in messaging strategy and production. Through new business partnerships and expansion strategies, I helped our territory grow from 4 to 18 states resulting in a total of nearly 15 million members with an annual budget in excess of $4 billion. Over my 6 year tenure, we surpassed sales goals each year and saw a 5x revenue increase overall.
  • Akqa
    Senior Account Executive
    Akqa 2000 - 2001
    San Francisco, Ca, Us
At AKQA (an Accenture company), I led teams in development and execution of creative concepts, marketing & media plans and budgets on 5 accounts (Palm, Stanford University Athletics, PAC-10, Realtor.com and Evite). I worked closely with creative teams and media planners & buyers to ensure a premium level of product and service for our clients worthy of our name. In addition, I performed a principal role on the New Business team.During my tenure, my team re-launched the Palm brand via a global ad campaign introducing the first wireless handheld (Palm VII) and the first web-enabled location-based service mobile platform. We also forged deals with major partners including FOX Sports, PGA TOUR, and American Airlines. As a result of my team's work, Palm's unaided brand awareness shot up 19% and they continued to be a market leader in handheld computing for the next several years. We were named the fastest growing ad agency in 2000 by Advertising Age, the West Agency of the Year by Adweek, and one of the most creative agencies in the nation by Creativity Magazine.
