General Manager- Water Filtration and Water Heater

In the position as head of finance, I report to the CFO of Global BG Domestic Appliances overseeing full finance operations across Commercial, Manufacturing and R&D activities. Being acting as Business Partner to provide valuable advise to management team to enable business growth and cost efficiency improvement. I have 22 F&A staff reporting to me consisting of business plan, finance/accounting operations, financial planning/analysis, internal control, statutory, treasury, etc. as an End-to-End organization structure with sales scale at EUR 180 million.While in the 2nd position as business leader for Philips Water Purification in China (EUR 30 million), in charge of functions included Sales/Marketing, R&D and After-Sales Service. In the past 3 years, the average annual sales growth rate has been at ~50% with double digit EBITA, via meaningful innovative products, ambitious and well-planned go-to-market strategy and excellent execution in operation. In this position I report to the Global BU Leader.

PMI stands for Post-Merge Integration. Leading a group of project team members across various functions consisting of Sales, Marketing, F&A, HR, IT, I&D and Operations etc, from both Philips and Povos sides to ensure a successful integration for the acquired company into Philips by maintaining its core competency and strengths towards its strategic goals and beyond.Main responsibilities:- Lead the preparation of integration plan and responsible for overall integration project management- Establish various integration work streams with solid plans with setting up priorities and focuses for delivering financial targets and synergies in accordance with plans- Ensure stable organization and successful retention of key position holders to well maintain business continuity- Support and facilitate the implementation of detailed integration plan per work stream, monitoring milestones and KPIs of initiatives to ensure timely completion and realization- Build up effective communication platform in place to ensure transparent feedbacks from employees are well received and preventive actions are made to mitigate potential business risk- Put adequate controls in place to ensure finance transparency, Philips way of working and company policy compliance

In this position, I report to the Head of Finance of Philips Consumer Lifestyle Greater China, and am in charge of a few groups consisting of Business Control, Reporting and Consolidation (incl. AOP budgeting, quarterly forecast, financial analysis, G/L closing, etc.), Credit Control / AR Collection, and AP/Treasury/Fiscal/taxation. Act as a business partner with sales/marketing teams to enable business profitable growth.

In charge of overall controlling, financial, accounting and tax aspects for the JV entity which operated EUR300 million annual businesses in 2007. I report directly to the JV CEO operationally and to the CFO of CEVA China functionally; and was a member of the JV Executive Management Committee to advise on major company matters.Subordinates: 63 (Finance & Accounting)Main responsibilities:- Oversee financial affairs of the JV organization and review financial analysis of operations in accordance with the guidance of Executive Management Committee and Board of Management.- Responsible for the company financial plan and policies, accounting practices, maintenance of fiscal records and preparation of financial reports- Develop, analyze and interpret of statistical and accounting information in order to appraise operating result in terms of profitability, performance against budget and other matters bearing on fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of organization- Responsible for CAPEX and IRR review- Responsible for tax planning and corporate compliance- Proper internal control to ensure adequate protection for all assets of business.- Identify and execute the process improvement which results in greater efficiency and effectiveness of the financial organization

In this position, I was in charge of controlling aspect for Imaging Systems (X-Ray, CV, CT, MR, Nuclear, HIT). I report directly to the Head of Finance of Philips Healthcare Greater China with the following job contents.Subordinates: 10 Key Areas of Responsibility:- Business control and internal control- Maintain adequate operation/process controls in place- Support and facilitation in maintaining and improving business controls- Ensure business compliance with Sarbanes & Oxley Act- Planning and Management accounting- Develop business judgment, enabling the CFO to contribute to the evaluation of business performance- Support and facilitation in the preparation of the Budget / Forecast- Analyze variances between budget, forecast, and actual performance- Support and facilitate the preparation of corrective Action Plan- Financial accounting- Execute/Authorized payment transactions- Correct and timely registration of financial transactions- Financial reporting according to company accounting principles and conventions- Accounts Receivable- Participate in determination of credit policy- Management of credit risk- Commercial Dept Management (tender/bidding/order intake)- Lead the commercial department (consisting of 8 staffs) in charge of all mainland China commercial orders and contractsFacilitate process control in bidding and contract management on day to day operation to ensure compliance of company policy and secure company interest

Joint Philips at Taipei, Taiwan. Main responsibilities include:- Internal control and business controls- Financial accounting- Management accounting- F&A organizations management (4 subordinates)- Acting Supply Chain Manager for Logistics management team (3 staffs)- Advise on foreign exchange exposure management to Organization Management- Maintain certain IT systems and also owner of certain IT systems- Country Export Control Manager of PMS Taiwan- Country Project Manager of SAP system implementation- Project Team Member of transition of Agilent acquisition project; To ensure the smooth business operations and stability of the new organization during the transition period of acquisition for the period of the first two yearsIn 2001, acted as the project manager in the acquisition of Agilent Healthcare Group in charge of ensuring smooth and successful transition between two companies, including IT system migration, office merge, establishing a whole new accounting team, people training in compliance with Philips culture and the way of working, etc. While the personnel turnover rate during the first two years was below 10% in total. This is a remarkable success in an M&A event.
