TED IS RUNNING FOR MAYOR ! Ted has proven to be a successful Mayor, A Mayor that supports our community’s health andwellness, safety and industrial, commercial and residential growth. He will continue to work tirelessly for the residents of Ingersoll to implement the initiatives the citizens of Ingersoll requested in Ingersoll’s Strategic Plan.Ted was first elected Mayor of Ingersoll in November, 2010. For 12 years he has served thecitizens of the town of Ingersoll to ensure Ingersoll remains a great place to work, live and callhome. Ted’s goal is to continue to build a healthy, safe and prosperous town where people come first. As Mayor, Ted has established himself as a leader both in the Town of Ingersoll and the County of Oxford through his service as a member on working boards and committees. In his time as mayor the town has seen strong economic growth, residential, commercial and industrial growth, and a healthy safe community, ensuring optimal functioning of the town. In his efforts to ensure Ingersoll is a great place to live, most notably, Ted led the charge to reverse the “done deal” of the landfill, dump, ensuring it could never be reversed. Further to this, Ted worked tirelessly with Provincial government to put power back into other communities by lobbying for legislation change that gives towns veto power over the establishment of new landfills in their communities.Prior to his election as Mayor, Ted has always been involved and supported the community ofIngersoll. -Ted has been involved in the following: -Established the Canterbury Folk Festival which ran for 20 years providing family entertainment and revenue that supported the community of Ingersoll. -Served as Deputy Warden for 2 terms, Councilor of Oxford County for 12 years, -Past Rotary Club President -Grand Knight with the Knights of Columbus. Formally recognized for his efforts Ted has received awards: -J.C. Herbert Citizen of the Year, -Lions Club Melvin Jones Fellowship and Helen Keller Fellowship, -Rotary Paul Harris Fellowship,-Ontario Council of Folk Festival Special Achievement, -Royal Canadian Legion Recognition of Community Service.Ingersoll is a great place to live, work and call home and Ted wants to ensure it remains that way for current and future residents. Ted believes the town must support business diversification, downtown revitalization, increase of diverse and affordable housing and inclusion and wellbeing for all. These initiatives are a priority for the residents of Ingersoll as they recently expressed their views.
