I am an experienced educator with over 25 years of dedicated service in both alternative and general education settings, with a specialization in supporting students on the autism spectrum and those facing significant life challenges. My work is driven by a deep belief in the power of inclusive education and the importance of ethical leadership.Currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Community Psychology at National Louis University, I focus on understanding and addressing the broader social and psychological factors that impact education. My leadership style is deeply influenced by the Socratic method of inquiry, Fred Rogers's empathy and kindness, and Mahatma Gandhi's selflessness. I believe in leading through thoughtful questioning, as Socrates did, encouraging open dialogue and critical thinking to arrive at deeper understanding and collective wisdom. Just as Gandhi led by example—never asking of others what he wouldn't do himself—I strive to create environments where trust, collaboration, and shared purpose thrive, ensuring that every individual feels valued and ethical principles guide every decision.In addition to my educational work, I am the author of Evolution of an Educator: There's Room for Love in Teaching, a book that reflects my philosophy that love and compassion are integral to effective teaching. I aim to continue advocating for equitable educational practices, supporting educators through consulting, and driving systemic change that benefits all learners.
