Review reports, handle budgets, write bid specs, and evaluate contractors for hire. Schedule and implement plant overhauls, of which there is approx. 8-10/year, spanning 5-6 weeks per unit Successfully manage projects and plant overhauls under budget and on time.Dynegy APEX Award recipient for work on $2M emergency ductwork repair of Roseton Unit 1.

Responsible for operations and maintenance activities including the hiring and supervision of hourly Shift Supervisors, Operators, and Maintenance Technicians. Managed all engineering and construction projects at the facility. Planned, scheduled, and implemented plant maintenance and warranty outages. Directed all plant efficiency efforts including controlling expense while maximizing plant output for maximum usage. Managed plant budget in excel of $15M, station inventory, and purchasing functions.Quickly and successfully led a team to correct a generator shutdown, saving $50K/hour.Led a team to rapidly restore service station power after an unexplained outage; restoration of the plant played a significant role in the re-establishment of power across New England and New York.As Project Manager, organized, scheduled, and implemented a successful four-day planned major outage that required the use of all plant personnel and several contractors with a budget of $800K.Maintenance Manager 2000Responsible for maintenance activities including the hiring and supervision of all Technicians. Planned, scheduled, and implemented plant maintenance and warranty outages. Managed and performed work to correct fundamental operating design flaws. Managed expense budget and approved all invoices. Coordinated work with all vendors. Implemented Maximo to manage workflow, organized inventory system, consolidate purchasing and invoicing.Created preventative maintenance program for the facility to avoid breakdowns and maximize efficiency.Provided detailed documentation for work performed on warrantied items that facilitated recovery of millions of dollars in warranty work.

Coordinated entire plant construction and managed technical and maintenance activities for plant operation. Completed Engineer Procure Construct contract and commissioned new plant for simple cycle operation in 1998 and combined-cycle operation in 1999.

Responsible for the engineering and large maintenance projects at UI's generating stations, including overhaul and inspection of large steam turbine generators, inspection and maintenance of high-pressure boilers, control upgrades, and insulation and asbestos abatement projects. Acted as UI representative for Siemens Power Corporation in construction of new combined-cycle plant.

Supported all cycle chemistry activities including boiler chemistry, steam purity, condensate polishing, Demineralizer make-up, and cooling water chemistry, fuel and ash testing. Supervised chemistry technicians and engineers. Managed the chemistry lab QA/QC program, cycle chemistry and unit performance issues. Handled all the boiler and cycle chemistry work on the plant's three steam units as well all unit performance testing. Re-engineered and implemented a redesign of the Chemistry Department that increased productivity and reduced personnel saving $450K.
