My experience includes being a Mechanical Engineer, which has given me a strong set of analytical and problem-solving skills. My time as a Project Manager has given me a much greater understanding of the big picture and how to manage and be a more productive member of an interdisciplinary teams. I was also given the opportunity to convey the project status to upper management through presentations weekly. I was also the Computer Aided Design Department Head; this gave me the opportunity to manage people. Having been a manager has given me a much greater understanding of why management does what they do and where they are trying to get and how to support them in achieving their goals. This also has given me the added value a better understanding the people that I work with and what motivates them. My time as a Special Forces Medic taught me to pick up task quickly and to make sound decisions. and how to operate as a member of a team. In this role, I have experience of being in charge of both an individual A team’s medical logistics all the way up to battalion level, 21 teams, of medical logistics. This has enabled me to experience the same operation from multiple levels given me a greater understanding of how and why some systems work and others do not. This experience has given me the added value of understanding not only that a team can and should be greater than the sum of its parts and how to operate with a team mentality. But also, how to support a team mentality environment.
