Implement and oversee all sports programs, including leagues, sports camps, and clinic, as well as youth and Bitty sports within the Blue Springs, Cleaver, and Red Bridge Family YMCA areas while adhering to the mission of the Y with a focus on youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Work with fellow Sports Directors and report to Senior Sports Directors to provide quality service and communication to members and program participants and ensure an excellent Y program experience for all participants. Lead staff and volunteer recruitment, training and development, and overall program growth and quality. Ensure the sports department operates efficiently and employ a continuous improvement model to meet and/or exceed goals for safety, program quality, membership satisfaction, and budget revenue.

Create, implement, manage and model systems and practices that support extraordinary sports experiences. Build relationship-based programs, sports leagues and services that move members/participants along a continuum from a casual connection to a committed level through increased involvement in sports programming. The Sports Director is a participant of the center management team and the sports service delivery team. Under the supervision and direction of the Executive Director, the Sports Director is responsible and accountable for all aspects of the department activities, events, staff, volunteers and budget, at the assigned location/center. The Sports Director is expected to emphasize member / participant service, character development, the mission statement, and to work with membership / participant retention and promotion. This position will also oversee our Kids Night Out Program and Child Watch for the center.
