AddThis was acquired in 2016 by Oracle. I became the tech lead for my team in early 2018 as we made a major infrastructure migration from co-located servers to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. I planned, scheduled, reviewed, and assigned work amongst team members. I was the primary resource for the team to explain systems and troubleshoot issues they had, since I have years of experience with our systems. We moved a large amount of infrastructure: 3 kafka clusters, a big data cluster, 4 scylladb clusters, two large web pixel deployments, and more, and completed the project successfully on time in Feb 2020.After the cloud migration project was completed, I and my team merged with several other teams to begin work on a new Java application for a new product initiative, while still supporting and maintaining our recently moved infrastructure. I am one of the most senior engineers, influencing decisions on architecture and design, doing detailed code reviews with junior engineers, writing code and improving various parts of the project.

Responsible for maintaining, developing new requested features, and designing new architectures to solve new problems across a suite of both internally and externally accessible jvm-based applications, processing billions of requests a day.We use primarily scala and java with smatterings of python, bash and web front ends to ingest, processing huge amounts of data both in real time and in batches. We open sourced our big data processing system, Hydra, a few years ago.Supported all our projects operationally, with deploys, debugging, profiling, optimizing, etc, across clusters of around 500 bare metal serversOverseeing projects touching multiple other teams, taking input from all sides and coming to a final conclusion and implementation, making compromises when needed, but working to understand the full problem, so that we need to make compromises as seldom as possible.

Developed an automated functional and regression testing framework from scratch, using and extending Selenium-RC for a set of complex AJAX-powered web applications.
