At Deloitte my role was Operations Manager of the Global Hosting Service Infrastructure Team (GHS), with 15 direct reports and dotted line for a further 10 between all teams across 3 geographies.Core responsibilities included; • Global datacentre management across four global DC’s• Management virtual teams spanning the globe; in UK, UK and India, including Storage, Backup, and Virtualization teams, additionally the Network team for 5 months• Enterprise Storage Management • Enterprise Backup Management• Infrastructure management for the introduction of new applications• Provide support to Director for budget of £30m+Achievements in this role:• Managed the installation of Deloitte Internal Cloud using MSVMM; server build SLA reduction from 2 days to 2 hours• Standardisation of SAN and Backup infrastructure’s; driving the consistency and availability in all areas, to manage 8PB of storage on 33 arrays, whilst reducing the management time• Managed the migration to MSDPM; offset the cost of tape with disk backups, significantly reducing management time and reduction of restore time to minutes• Built offshore team based in Hyderabad; recruitment, planning and delivering training, for the 9 direct reports the team became a significant part of the wider GHS team• ESX Host consolidation project; doubled the capacity with only 30% increase in cost

Successful reconfigured the server network stack for the whole company infrastructure over a weekend.

As part of the client services department I was specifically brought in to take care of the Year 2000 aspect of the company during my sandwich year. Auditing then producing reports, with remedial actions for the client. In addition to this I became an integral part of the Client Services team, having started only knowing how to use a computer leaving installing complete sites.
