Current research focus on solid-state quantum devices with a wide variety of applications, particularly superconductor-based photon sensors. Skills in the use of condensed matter theory, numerical modelling, data processing and computational methods, as well as device design and experimental characterization. Implement hardware and software integration for novel and commercial X-ray detectors and measurement equipment for a variety of synchrotron X-ray science applications. Ongoing support for the synchrotron user and beamline scientist community in the use of new detectors.Practical lab experience with low-noise measurements, cryogenics, and digital and analog electronics. Significant IT skills as an informal Linux systems administrator, programming and scripting in several languages, and web development. Contributor to many open-source projects in the Linux ecosystem, most significantly as an openSUSE member.
