    The project involves structure determination of β-glucosidases belonging to the family 1 & 3 by X- ray crystallography and docking of different flavonoid substrates to study the molecular interactions in the active site.β-glucosidases belonging to the family 1 & 3 were engineered by sequence and structure based analysis in order to improve the catalytic efficiency towards different flavonoid substrates like Quercetin glucosides. Molecular interactions of the mutant variants at the active site were further studied by structure based methodologies to explain the kinetics.
