HPDLaw is an Intellectual Property law firm with a number of creative-type lawyers who are mostly former engineers and scientists. We specialize in helping business of all sizes transform their ideas into protectable assets. Although our firm offers a wide range of services including trademarks, copyrights, and business start-up assistance, my personal practice emphasizes patent preparation and prosecution, which largely entails working with inventors to draft, file, and prosecute patent applications. I also conduct investigations relating to patentability of new ideas and provide advice relating to preliminary questions concerning potential infringement by competitors. I enjoy the opportunity to learn about new technologies and have, in the past, worked in a variety of technical areas including data storage systems and devices, semiconductor devices and manufacturing processes, telecommunications, green energy technologies such as natural gas and petroleum harvesting, mechanical devices of many types, athletic wear, and mobile app and software development.

While working with CU's High Energy Physics group (HEP), I conducted optimization studies on a particle detector proposed for implementation in the International Linear Collider.
