Project management/oversight related to habitat restoration, species surveys, and habitat monitoring activities; manages complex environmental processes and oversee the development of necessary documents for compliance with federal, state, and local requirements, permitting; supervises consultants and coordinates with public agency partners;Leads coordination and consultation meetings with wildlife and other agencies; conducts field trips; prepares materials for and assists Executive Officer, stakeholder groups and governance boards with project proposals; develops and maintains partnerships with NGOs, state agencies and departments and similar organizations and works with them to coordinate project elements, programs and events;Directs the reserve land enrollment process and the review of surveys, appraisals, baseline documentation and stewardship plans associated with land acquisitions and reserve system management;Grant writing and grant administration; contract management; assists with development and improvement of organizational policies and guidelines;Participates in regional and national initiatives, symposia, conferences, and industry groups to benefit Habitat Plan implementation; serves on National HCP Coalition Annual Meeting Planning and Fundraising committees.

San Francisco Bay Area

Led development and implementation of regional conservation plans and environmental compliance documents. My project management included conservation plans for local governments and private clients. Planning efforts included impact and mitigation analysis and cost, funding, and implementation strategies for urban development, recreational use, transportation, water, energy, and gas infrastructure, and wind and solar renewable energy development. I served as a technical expert and task leader on energy infrastructure projects, including traditional and renewable energy projects such as the PG&E multiregion HCP, Altamont Pass Wind Resource Area HCP/NCCP, and the Desert Renewable Energy Conservation Plan, and international projects such as Malawi Power System Environmental and Social Impact Assessment.

Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina Area

Co-authored grant proposal to secure funding for 2006-2007 academic year speaker series and annual conference. Assembled an interdisciplinary group of public, student, and faculty participants from UNC, NC State, and Duke Universities to provide constructive feedback on original research and projects of student and guest speakers. Moderated discussions on critical environmental issues affecting Latin America and the Amazon to improve understanding of the social, historical, political, and cultural contexts in which environmental issues are embedded. Launched full day conference titled Protected Areas: How Successful are they in a changing world?, offering panels on terrestrial and marine habitats, financing of protected areas, keynote speaker on environmental services in Costa Rica and reception to attract new participants from the academic and greater community.

Identified opportunities to sustain biodiversity in an agriculturally dominated landscape for an industrial agricultural corporation. Used Center for International Forestry Research rapid assessment sampling method to identify forest species composition and size classes.

Greater Chicago Area

Commended for ability to quickly grasp legal information and being a resourceful problem solver in real estate transactions, income tax preparation, probate procedures and estate planning.

Trained rural indigenous farmers to increase yields through improved management of scarce resources using creative, participatory, non-formal education. Followed through on commitments to local agrarian association by using community analysis techniques (SWOT, community mapping) to research, write and implement forage crop production and preservation project. Collaborated with agronomy faculty at an urban university.
