- Develop, implement and maintain architectures for all applications within their functional area, ensuringconsistency with specified requirements agreed with all stakeholders, balancing functional, servicequality and systems management requirements.- Deliver and manage the target design, policies and standards, working proactively to maintain a stable,viable architecture thus ensuring consistency of design across the functional area. Collaborate with otherarchitects to validate and ensure that designs conform to the RMIT Enterprise technical, information andbusiness architectures.- Identify and evaluate client requirements to develop recommendations relating to provision of designschemas at all stages within project lifecycle, including governance and guidance throughimplementation.- As the technical expert, maintain the application architecture and solutions design through continuousenhancement and lifecycle management activities. Develop and deliver to the Application LifecycleManagement Plan for the functional area.- Undertake peer review of systems designs to ensure selection of appropriate technology, efficient use ofresources, and integration of multiple systems and technology according to RMIT Enterprise Architecturestandards.- Manage the relationship between the business and IT though the provision of sound expert advice oncapabilities of existing and potential future application solutions. Provide leadership and guidance thatpromotes the development and utilisation of technical knowledge to business customers.- Maintain an in-depth knowledge of relevant technical specialities, and provide expert advice regardingtheir application.- Leverage the strategic application of IT, through investigation and development of innovative methods ofadvancing IT assets to the benefit of RMIT.
