I joined The Oxford Group in 1988 as part of their initial intake of associate consultants. I worked on a large number of consultancy-led learning and development interventions with leading PLC organisations. Assignments included:Designing and implementing a range of personal development and leadership development client programmesProject managing the design and delivery of national development programmesRelationship managing client accounts.

Provided HR consultancy support to the motor industry across Scotland. Assigned to the Scottish District Office of Ford Motor Company as a locum HR Manager.

I started my career with the John Lewis Partnership as a graduate trainee and was promoted to my first line management position within 12 months. I moved into HR shortly afterwards and as an HR professional had experience of managing and developing teams in 3 stores, during periods of both expansion and consolidation. My main role was to coordinate the implementation of HR services, policies, and programmes throughout the store.
