Assisted in concept planning, site planning and construction drawings for commercial development projects.

I assisted the National Land Development Department with pavement evaluations. Duties included performing site evaluations of existing pavement conditions, using the Pasar Rating System. I prepared Phase 1 pavement reports to establish both short- and long-term capital programs for maintaining client facilities. The reports also included the evaluation of ADA compliance and associated costs for all repair/preventative maintenance options.Duties also included construction site visits and payment processing.

As a Staff Engineer, I was responsible for site engineering design (site layout, paving, grading, earthwork analysis, utility design and drainage design) of various commercial and residential developments. Additional responsibilities included researching community requirements, creating topographic surveys, value engineering comparisons, completing permit applications (MDEQ Wetland Permits, Water Main Permits, Sanitary Sewer Permits, NPDES and SESC Permits), drafting easements and creating Exhibit ‘B’ documents. I estimated quantities and costs associated with projects. I also delegated tasks to support staff and reviewed their work. I assisted survey crews with construction staking, topographic surveys and benchmark loops.

As a staff engineer, I revised engineering plans for land development projects. I also calculated storm water and retention/detention pond volumes, created topographic surveys and composed legal descriptions for public utilities, R.O.W. dedications, and legal surveys. My position also included quantity estimates and costs for projects.My largest challenge was engineering a new road segment.
