Work in partnership with College faculty, administration, alumni, and friends to secure external funding for institutional priorities from national, regional, and local foundations and corporations. Manage the proposal writing process and steward donor relationships through regular grant reporting to foundation and corporate donors.Work directly with the President of the college and Vice President for College Advancement to develop strategies for foundation and corporate donors. Establish external meetings for President and VP and attend donor meetings with them as strategy dictates. Draft correspondence for President and VP in regard to this donor group.

OVERALL• Responsible for exceeding development goals of $300,000 within the $1.5 million budget of one of the nation’s largest and longest-running community theatres.• Managed and implemented the fundraising initiatives of the Theatre & School, including corporate sponsorships and memberships, individual memberships and solicitations, and foundation requests. • Created and implemented strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major donors for annual support and special project needs.• Participated on Board’s Executive Committee to create yearly operational plans and strategies.CORPORATE• Solicited local businesses and national corporations for sponsorships, memberships, and other opportunities for support.• Wrote recognition pieces for Theatre publications. ANNUAL GIVING• In first year, adjusted donor benefit package, yielding a 60% increase in member donations.• Designed and implemented new year-end appeal solicitation strategy, decreasing costs by 60% and increasing revenue by 308% in 2005. PLANNED GIVING • Managed the disposition of estate gift totaling over $600,000, including cash distribution and personal property disposition. • Implemented steps to revitalize planned giving society, adding 5 new planned gifts. CAPITAL CAMPAIGN: As the key staff person, facilitated campaign plans and objectives within a $12.3 million project, components including a $10 million facility renovation (completed in September 2006) and a $2.3 million equipment/endowment campaign (completed in 2008.)MARKETING• Created a general brochure to better present the Theatre’s story to the public. Copywriter for general and campaign brochures; worked closely with designer on all aspects, including photo selection and placement. Brochure now being used by all Theatre departments.• Partner in creating marketing strategies that support fundraising and ticket sales.

• Successful in personally securing gifts and pledges totaling over $1.25 million. Acted in Moves Manager role for an additional $2 million in gifts and $950,000 in match. • Focused on qualifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major donors, defined as those with the capacity to give $10,000+ annually, or $100,000+ over three years, including individuals, corporations, and foundations.• Worked in conjunction with staff across the Conservancy (one of the largest non-profits in U.S. with over 3,000 staff) to prepare proposals. • Organized numerous donor cultivation events, in the field and in house.• Discussion of planned giving tools part of developing the highest, best gift for the organization. Partnered with local estate planner to hold a luncheon to educate 20 high-profile planners about the Conservancy’s work and planned giving opportunities. • Supported Marketing and Communications in preparing and implementing media events and materials to reach a larger audience with the mission.

Negotiated and closed acquisitions of conservation quality properties. Completed gifts of real estate, (not of conservation quality) that were sold with revenues applied to programs.

Gave public presentations about the Partnership and worked with individual and corporate donors, landowners, and public partners toward achieving mission of establishing an area trail system.
