I graduated from the University of South Carolina with a BA - during this time I learned and grew but my real 'education' did not begin until after I had children. Watching them learn and grow helped me to realize that I was put on this planet to be an educator. I have always believed that you should never stop learning and my grandparents instilled in me at a very young age the love of books and learning. Learning helps me be a better mother, wife, teacher and friend - it keeps me young and current. This love of learning led me to obtain my Masters in Early Childhood Special Education at the University of Colorado in Denver. For me teaching is what makes me, me. When I see a child learn something or do something on their own for the first time my soul sings with joy!Learning should be fun and creative. I want my students to carry that fun with them for the rest of their lives, even past their 'formal' education. Life is education and education is life.
