Co-Editor for the NYSBS's beautiful and inspiring quarterly newsletter in a volunteer capacity. NYSBS's mission is to "monitor and increase production of bluebirds through a statewide nest box program, provide education about bluebirds, support studies on bluebirds and other cavity nesters, and to cooperate and coordinate with other organizations with similar goals".

Coordinated the SUNY Broome Bachelor Partnership Program: * Developed and maintained partnership agreements between SUNY Broome and partner colleges: Excelsior College, SUNY Empire College, and Bellevue University* Advised and advocated for prospective and current partnership students* Developed and employed both on and off campus marketing strategies * Coordinated partnership campus events Reported to the Vice President of Student Development

Provided comprehensive academic advising to students for many majors spanning the Liberal Arts, STEM, Health Science, and Business and Public Services Divisions, addressing academic, transfer, and career needs. Chosen as the first Chairperson of the Academic Advising Department. Results included: * Improved communication with campus constituencies via participation in Deans and Chairperson Council and Divisional Councils* Creation of targeted academic program advising days where program faculty advised alongside the academic advisors. Benefits included an increase of program students being advised at an earlier time and cross training of both the advisors and faculty as they shared their specialized knowledge and skills * Successful implementation of strategies geared to improving students understanding of their academic program requirements and the need for timely participation in academic advising* Made best use of department financial resources while simultaneously improving overall campus academic advising by hiring (on a part time basis) both tenured and adjunct faculty to assist with advising during peak periods. A residual effect was that the faculty were better equipped when providing academic advising during other times of the year. They also often shared their increased academic advising knowledge with other faculty. * Restructured Academic Advising Department processes for increased efficiency and consistency Created Parent Sessions to assist parents in developing an appropriately supportive role for helping their student (for instance, timely completion of the FAFSA, procurement of immunization records, etc).Co-chaired a cross-campus Academic Advising Committee which led to significant advances in academic advising on the SUNY Broome campus.

Coordinated and developed activities associated with a NYS grant for refugee and immigrant students enrolled at Broome. This included:* Delivering and arranging for academic, career and transfer services for this population* Liaising with both on and off campus constituents*Developing and maintaining formal grant recordsBoth the college and community welcomed these individuals who arrived from a large variety of countries including Japan, China, Bosnia, Vietnam, Russia, Latvia, Germany, Ukraine, etc.

Provision of full range of counseling services for traditional and nontraditional international students including academic, career, transfer and personal counseling.As the college International Student Counselor, I provided: * Academic advisement* Interpretation and application of Immigration Services guidelines* Specialized transfer programsWhile in this position, I reinstituted an informational newsletter, and taught a three credit course teaching cultural, community, and college information/skills to international students.
