About Terry Bader

Terry graduated in 1979 from Kansas State University with a degree in architecture. He practiced consulting architecture for eight years, positioning him for a career with St. John’s Mercy Medical Center as director of planning & design in 1987, for which he was responsible for a $50 million annual construction budget and two major facilities with capacity over 1000 beds. In 1998, Terry advanced from director to executive director of planning design & construction with Unity Health System, a division of St. Johns Mercy System. He took responsibility for all construction projects for the health system throughout the St. Louis market with a total bed count exceeding 2200 and an average annual budget of $120 million. By 2001, Terry developed a major campus redevelopment master plan with a seven year spend projected at over $750 million.By 2005, Terry was responsible for 42 hospitals in 8 states with a combined licensed bed count of 4062 and over $1 billion in design and construction projects laid out in a 5 year plan, ranging from new green field hospitals to major renovations and additions.
