I lead an 80+ person engineering team dedicated to building critical services for Azure Communication Services (ACS). ACS, a robust Azure CPaaS platform, empowers Azure Developers with essential communication services. My role involves spearheading service teams responsible for strategic planning, agile development, and seamless operation of services such as SMS, Chat, Email, WhatsApp integration, Telco Number Acquisition, and Events. I thrive in scaling complex solutions to meet the demands of a dynamic and rapidly evolving ecosystem.

Led Project Rome effort and was responsible for development of Android, iOS, Linux, and Xamarin SDKs. Project Rome is about connecting devices and users regardless of platform or form factor. The SDK allows developers to build applications on Android and iOS that can access all the devices the user may be interacting with during their day, including Windows. The SDK has enabled some interesting scenarios such as iOS and Android's Continue on PC, Windows 10's Timeline feature, and other new cross-platform features such as Near Share and Cloud Clipboard, as well as IOT scenarios such as speakers and other devices. Responsible for UIKit feature area in Windows Bridge for iOS. The Windows Bridge for iOS (also referred to as WinObjC) is a Microsoft open-source project that provides an Objective-C development environment for Visual Studio and support for iOS APIs. The bridge allows you to create Universal Windows Platform (UWP) apps that will run on many Windows devices by re-using your Objective-C code and iOS APIs alongside Windows 10 features like Cortana and Windows Notifications.

Led Control Development for XAML framework used in modern versions of Windows applications and most of the Windows User Interface.

Responsible for feature development of Silverlight UI Framework, Core Controls, Data Binding, and SDK Controls. Silverlight is a cross-platform development platform with rich controls and media options, which was used for web broadcast of Olympics, stock trading and other enterprise applications.

Responsible for development activities for LINQ to SQL project, a key component of Microsoft’s overall LINQ strategy. Took project from prototype phase to production quality.

Responsible for all development activities for Customization of business framework in mult-national, multi-site development team. Customization framework enabled customization using metadata at multiple levels of the application stack. Scrum Master for organization and ran agile development process for team.

Responsible for all development activities for Customization, System Administration, User Interface Framework, and Setup features for Microsoft Business Framework and Microsoft Business Portal, including analysis, design, code, and test. Role continued after acquisition by Microsoft.

Responsible for design, development and testing for Solomon Desktop, companies web-based ERP offering. Solomon Desktop was first ERP solution to allow launching Web and Desktop apps from a common web-based interface. Responsible for all aspects of managing the reporting components for Solomon IV, a middle-tier accounting software package, other areas of responsibility included OLAP (On-Line Analytical Processing) and Business Intelligence. Responsible for identifying, designing, developing, and testing new features in those feature areas.

Led a team of nine software engineers managing the analysis, design, and development of 20 personal computer-based software projects. Analysis and design of projects utilized IDEF0 and IDEF1X activity modeling, object oriented design, and rapid prototyping. Responsible for all portions of team management, including creation of standardized development processes, team training, performance evaluation and counseling, and project assignment. Also performed duties of systems analyst, led teams of 10 to 15 in the development of several software systems, including a web-based (Active Server Pages) class scheduling system, a document archive system (VB), an email filtering and reporting system, and a web-based catalog of software solutions. Member of Software Engineering Process Group in a Software Engineering Institute CMM level 3 organization. While in the Air Force also developed Flight Simulator software and Mission Visualization software using C++.
