Scrum Master for the New Energy team at AGL. The team built the front-end capabilities of the AGL Solar Command and My Account web portals for our solar customers.Achievements:• Introduction of alternative Kanban processes to remove blockages and encourage cross functional skills. The experimentation of the Hourglass Scrum / Kanban board and WIP limits enabled the removal of bottle-necks at testing points and ensured delivery of committed stories (~75% increased velocity per sprint).• Facilitation of team building workshops to foster self-awareness and appreciation of different working styles and behaviours within the team. Workshops included the learnings from Patrick Lencioni’s “The Five Dysfyunctions of a Team”, and an in-depth review of the DISC behaviour assessment tool. As a result of these activities, team members have created healthy tension, allowing for constructive debate and greater engagement. This has been key in their ability to self-organise, and encourage transparency for further inspection and adaption in retrospectives.Role and responsibilities: • Facilitate key agile ceremonies including daily standups, sprint planning, retrospectives and review/showcases.• Build team spirit.• Keep the team focused on the sprint goal and their definition of Done.• Remove impediments to the team and protect the team from outside distractions.• Help team to improve velocity and implement agreed retrospective recommendations.• Maintain and improve Scrum or Kanban process in teams.• Record measurable data coming out of sprints (e.g. cumulative flow diagrams, control charts) to assist team inspection and adaption.
