Grind and Glaze is a luxury womenswear line made from the heart. Inspired by her rural upbringing, designer and founder Tessa Clark transcends the modern fashion label by refining traditional staples, like the apron, to create a collection of sustainably-made, all-occasion pieces. Raised by a self-taught ceramicist and a hard-working miller, the grinding of grain and the glazing of pottery intersects with wabi sabi aesthetics to reimagine simple statements in an entirely new way. Ethically-crafted in Cincinnati, Ohio, the sacredness of hands pay homage to youthful daydreams to inspire a line rooted in childhood traditions and artistic craft. Assisted DAAP professor in teaching an investigative endemic Hawaiian printmaking course to summer session students.

Beginning as a school project focusing on entrepreneurship, this line of aprons inspired by my roots has continued to develop. Remaining a small side project, the aprons are produced in small batches in Cincinnati, Ohio and sold locally.

Assisted two fashion design professors teach design communication to junior level students. The course covered ideating, technical flats, documenting process, textile exploration and illustrating.

Assisted emerging luxury designer with the design and production process of newest collections. Scheduled and assisted photoshoots, redesigned website, and created a social media campaign.

Attended weekly trend, design, and production meetings. Researched inspiration, sketched handflats and mocked into designs. Assisted with set up of textile trend presentation.

Communicated between the studio, sample factories and showroom. Designed logo and accessories for Summer 2015. Assisted photoshoots and filmings, including the Resort 2015 VPL x Ballerina Project.

Communicated with buyers and potential customers. Assisted setting up a vernissage for Printemps/Été 2014 collection. Gained insight of small shoe design and production process.

Worked directly with assistant designers to plan, organize, and create collections. Created fabric flowers for 2014 Bridal collection used on belts and headpieces. Assisted backstage for Fall 2013 andBridal 2014 shows.

Member of the purchasing and merchandising team. Attended numerous buying trips to the New York International Gift Fair and NY NOW. Assisted in the set up of gallery exhibits and merchandising the mill store.
