We live and work in an environment driven by adaptation, or the lack thereof. Change happens around us and we modify our plans based on our understanding of the current situation, or we wither and fade into ineffective relics of “the way we have always done it.” Based on years of experience with both models, I share lessons learned from those who have been willing and able to navigate successfully. Central to my core being is learning from, and teaching, people in crisis situations; practicing every day as an instrument in the redeemer’s hands. Professionally I support educators and administrators who have the courage and wisdom to recognize that schools MUST move beyond developing every student to become just one more compliant factory worker. I work with school board members, district administrators, teachers and community activists to implement STEM education for our next generation of workers who must all behave as engineers and scientists. After years of working with leading computer-based assessment companies, I also remain committed to helping established paper-based certification programs transition to a more modern approach for test delivery. I work with a team of brilliant and experienced specialists in the field of high stakes testing. We weave the science of psychometrics into the carefully crafted balance of convenience and security to provide computer based-test delivery to a global market. Fresh starts, higher order learning, and surprise-free change plans to move from “here” to “there” are on my thoughts.
