After serving Texas for over 39 years as a peace officer, Chief Deputy Sanders has a unique blend of operational, administrative, and technical experience. His career is highlighted with strengths in leadership, communications, program design, and project implementation. He has served as a patrol officer, field training officer, investigator, SWAT team member, and supervisor of police communications, records, administration, and patrol.As part of his work in law enforcement, Thomas has developed, implemented, and managed numerous federal grant-funded programs, including those that combat family violence and programs that enhance police efficiency and productivity.Thomas' current academic research interests center on the professionalism of law enforcement and the professional standards of law enforcement officers and their agencies.Memberships:Justice of the Peace and Constables AssociationAcademy of Criminal Justice Sciences
