- Replaced a custom framework for the public facing website http://www.energypricechoice.com with a more standardized, supported framework following core software development principles.- Enhanced back end capabilities of the website for energy brokerage agents with features like price searching, reporting, contract population, and more.- Automated the process of importing and cleaning over 600,000 prices every single day sent from various suppliers.

- Ongoing research assistant for Dr. Ye Zhao of the Kent State University Computer Science department. Research involves work with a variety of backend server systems and a front end web application. The server technologies include C#, .NET, MVC, MSSQL, PHP, MySQL, and Apache. The research revolves around new ways of visualizing data in a region using web based map software like LeafletJS. A sample of work is visible at http://vis.cs.kent.edu/PortoTrajectories/.- Also working with other professors on a wireless sensor system using an Arduino platform and mesh networks such as ZigBee integrated with desktop, server, and mobile applications.

- Started as a PHP developer and grew into the lead windows desktop and mobile developer.- Work for the last five years has been focused on work with a C# .NET MVC server and C# WinForms desktop. Newer desktop software has also been designed using C# WPF and WIX installers.- Server work includes building REST services and integration with other company software.- Desktop and mobile application development involves integration with the REST API’s developed on the server and creating and maintaining self-updating, responsive, touch friendly desktop applications. Mobile software made frequent use of technologies such as Asynchronous Pluggable Protocols, Threading, UAC, Android, Bluetooth, RFID, ZPL2, and CPCL. Designed and implemented user interface changes and worked on improving user experience in company applications.- While working with the server team, helped coordinate and release software updates and identified and fixed numerous security vulnerabilities related to SQL Injection, XSS, and input validation. I frequently provide short informational discussions with team members to inform them of best practices and upcoming technology changes like ECMA 6.

- Served four years of active duty as an Airborne Paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division. Also served two years with the National Guard.- Worked in a large variety of roles during that period.- Additionally, developed an inventory management system that was used by my unit for the last 2 years of my active duty service. The software was written in PHP and installed on a local Windows machine. The software created a local server that automated the process of maintaining and issuing equipment to soldiers. The software enabled the company to achieve readiness performance levels the battalion had not seen before by enabling 100% accountability during withdrawal of equipment to several hundred soldiers in under an hour.
