I'm an in-house tech attorney in Durham, North Carolina, working for GitHub as part of its small-but-mighty Commercial Legal team.I became “Twitter famous” in February 2016 for my work defending a 17-year-old black high school student wrongly accused of a crime. My tweets about the case went viral, and the story was covered in Forbes, Vibe, and roughly a dozen other publications. In 2019, I used that social media fame to unearth what is now known as #SilentSham, the $2,574,999 sweetheart deal the University of North Carolina Board of Governors struck with the NC Sons of Confederate Veterans over a fake lawsuit about a Confederate monument. I provided key information to reporters and the public about the deal and helped get the entire corrupt bargain thrown out.I've dabbled on other topics since then that occasionally draw some attention, like the Mignogna v Funimation defamation lawsuit, the 2020 Police Brutality Mega-Thread, and my YouTube video explaining the Electoral Count Act.In my spare time I run the T. Greg Doucette Foundation, focused on raising money for local charities in Durham. I raise money through the TGDF for the Bull City Foodraiser, an annual program distributing a bag of groceries to each of 5,000+ elementary school students in the city for winter break.
