About Thad Peiffer

Hello,I have been a typical Windows developer for a number of years, starting with Excel VBA and Access 2.0 applications in 1996, moving on to Visual Basic 5 shortly after. A few years later "classic" ASP was available and I went that route, although when .NET became available that changed every developer's life for good. For 10 years I worked in the .NET space, spicing things up with SQL Server. While working in the .NET space I always pushed the proper utilization of client side technologies in conjunction in order to provide users with a brilliant experience. In 2013, some companies in Des Moines became ready to implement the benefits that approach can take, so I decided it is time for me to take on the title of, ahem, JavaScript Developer.For the past few years I have been able to live that dream. I have been able to use the following technologies extensively. The development world is too big for someone to say they are an expert with any technology, so I'm still learning every day, but I am super confident in my abilities to deliver using this stack. - AngularJS 1.x with Jasmine unit tests - JavaScript, ES6 and TypeScript - CSS and SASS - Angular Material Design - grunt, gulp and webpack - C#, SQL Server, Microsoft WebApiI have recently taken on the role of Technology Lead for my small scrum team, helping to plan the direction of our project, groom stories on our backlog, dig into requirements for future stories and implement infrastructure pieces of the project to keep the team moving forward. This role has definitely reaffirmed my enjoyment of the Agile / Scrum methodology. If done right, a team can work very transparently with no need to micromanage. It also goes a long way in ensuring that the final product will actually represent the desire of the client / product owner! The role has also shown me that I prefer being a "doer" - I get great satisfaction out of the implementation of requirements.Thad
