Johann R. Rodriguez is the Director of Product Management at Hearst, one of the nation's largest diversified media, information, and services companies. As part of the Employee Applications team within Hearst Technology, Johann and team build internal products that improve the employee experience across the company. In his previous role as Senior Product Manager, Johann launched the new MyHearst employee portal, a one stop shop for Hearst employees to find the information and resources they need, including personalized content, benefits, productivity tools and more. Previously, as Product Manager / GM of Hearst Labs, he conceptualized, developed, marketed, and launched a platform designed to connect the 20,000+ employees across Hearst around key technology issues and best practice sharing. Working for the office of the CTO, he has managed the enterprise social community & culture and produced innovation-focused events, such as hackathons, including the Hearst Immersive Hackathon which focused on Augmented and Virtual Reality. He also launched an ongoing series of emerging technology huddles to spark creative discussions between Hearst leadership and the tech community in NYC. Prior to Hearst, Johann Rodriguez worked in the Marketing team of the NYC-based startup, ZocDoc, and spearheaded the launch of the Spanish version of the site and its blog. Before embarking on his NYC adventure, he received his B.S. in Marketing from the University of Puerto Rico in Mayaguez, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and was awarded Best Marketing Student of the 2008 graduating class. Outside of work, he enjoys exploring NYC on his trusty bike named Lana, kicking back with a good B-Horror movie, and obsessively checking his weather apps hoping to see snow on the forecast.
