I wore several hats, including capital-raising, business development and building a successful new business seeding hedge fund managers from 2004-2008. We shifted to backing opportunistic real estate managers during 2009 and 2010. Both of those real estate teams generated high multiple returns for investors and bully consistent track records. Both are still in business and continue to thrive today. Harvest Capital Strategies was founded by Joe Jolson in 2000 as a long/short equity hedge fund manager known as "JMP Asset Management." Our hedge fund business grew from approximately $40,000,000 to over $1,000,000,000 of assets under management from 2003- 2010. In addition, real estate and hedge fund managers seeded and sponsored by Harvest during my tenure grew to manage more than $2,000,000,000 of assets. Harvest Capital was sold along with JMP Group to Citizens Financial in 2021.
