I love all facets of music without being able to play a note.Growing up, music was life, not by performing, but by listening. I've been an avid record collector my whole life. In high school, I took a job as radio DJ for a small CCM radio station where I was the on air talent for the noon - 6 pm shift. My love of music, along with the radio gig, led me to my current 20+ year career in the music industry here in Nashville. In 2001, I started my own record label and artist management company at the age of 22, not long after taking a temporary position at CMA. I've moved on from releasing albums and managing artists, but I'm still working at CMA, 20 years later, currently as the Director of Business Affairs.In my current position I have the opportunity to facilitate deals for our four day music festival, CMA Fest. I distribute agreements for talent appearing on each of our three television properties, CMA Awards, CMA Country Christmas and the CMA Fest show. I clear publishing rights to use songs in online marketing and artist performance videos. I work closely with the appropriate unions, SAG AFTRA, AFM, WGA and DGA for each of our television shows. I'm the guy who remembers why we did something in 2005 and whether or not we should try it again. I'm still buying records, sometimes full collections from others who are downsizing. I enjoy adding the records I need to my collection and selling the left over records to friends. The joy of discovering new music through record collecting will never grow old to me.For fun, I'm currently teaching myself how to repair old stereo equipment such as receivers, turntables, speakers and more. I've always loved a classic stereo system that sounds great and bringing these old machines back to life is something I enjoy spending my free time on. It's a challenging hobby that teaches me new things on every project.
