Being a Trailblazer simply means the course has been delivered. This happened for the first time (for me) on 8th April 2017 and I thank all those who participated.Naturally, this is associated with my vision that you can read elsewhere on this profile.Having read Mike Dooley;'s book "Infinite Possibilities;The Art of Living Your Dreams back in 2006, the understanding of how things "work" increased and becoming a trainer seemed the logical step. Having completed the "classroom" session - along with around 400 other people - in 2016, it would be interesting to know how many took the next step and became certified.

As the first tier of local government, Town and Parish councils can - and occasionally do - have the biggest impact, given the strictures placed on District, County and Metropolitan councils. In the time that I was a councillor, the impact the council had on the town was immeasurable and it was a privilege to play a small part in that (only one of 12 elected councillors and other staff to thank, most notably Jonathan Williams, the Town Clerk).There are other people outside of the town that facilitated the success of Middlewich as the "festival" town of Cheshire, as it seems to be known now, but there are too many to list here.Only gave up because our business interests had expanded and my wife deserved a bit more of my time than Jonathan was getting... Kidding, but only just!

Worked with Local (i.e. Town and Parish) Councils to encourage them to do more for their community. Excellent job, working with excellent people.If you are fortunate enough to have a Local Council and it is not living up to your expectations, either get involved or get in touch. If you are unfortunate enough not to have a local council, get in touch and ChALC can show you how you can benefit like those living in the areas of the best practice councils.

Initially started in a sales support role, but as the only person in the company with any real interest in "computers" - as it was then known, became the person looking after the IT, including managing the transfer from a small not really connected network (remember coax?) to a three server, thirty client system that virtually ran itself.

As a "self-employed" representative of EB, this was the most profitable experience of my life till that point, however it was a "full on, seven day a week, work bank holidays, keep the team geed up and get your own sales in" occupation that gave no time for rest. Going on holiday in October 1993 made me realise I was working the wrong way and probably would have had serious health problems. Despite the enormous satisfaction of seeing kids benefit from the 32 volume works of EB, personal health was more important which was the only reason I moved on.It still remains one of the best companies that I worked with and Joe Adams and Dave Ritchie combined to be two of the most inspirational leaders around.

Briefed with increasing membership of the Scottish Young Conservatives (did so) and organising the Scottish Young Conservative conference. Outstanding job, but coming on the back of eight years service in the RAF, my liver could not cope with any more Young Conservative Parties. Oh and the Conservatives won another resounding victory that year.
