In the time that I was a councillor, the impact the council had on the town was immeasurable and it was a privilege to play a small part in that (only one of 12 elected councillors and other staff to thank, most notably Jonathan Williams, the Town Clerk).There are other people outside of the town that facilitated the success of Middlewich as the "festival" town of Cheshire, as it seems to be known now, but there are too many to list here.Only gave up because our business interests had expanded and my wife deserved a bit more of my time than Jonathan was getting... Kidding, but only just!

Going on holiday in October 1993 made me realise I was working the wrong way and probably would have had serious health problems. Despite the enormous satisfaction of seeing kids benefit from the 32 volume works of EB, personal health was more important which was the only reason I moved on.It still remains one of the best companies that I worked with and Joe Adams and Dave Ritchie combined to be two of the most inspirational leaders around. -
