I am the founder of The Clay Yard, a brand new school of ceramics operating from the beautiful setting of Steamer Quay, Totnes. With many years of teaching in state education, I have fulfilled my personal dream to establish this brand new pottery school in my home town of Totnes. My business ethos has been driven by the goal to remain inclusive and accessible for all. The location, the inspiring surroundings and the personal and inviting atmosphere for those engaged with The Clay Yard, enable and empower individuals through a shared sense of community. Driven by simplifying systems in order to offer a simple but optimal creative experience the studio systems are finely-tuned to manage the flow of creativity whilst presenting a model of sustainable practice that engages discussion and awareness of current issues relating to the protection of the future of our beautiful Devon landscape.
