I am a videographer & photographer based in Melbourne with over 15 years working in the industry. As a content creator I have a passion for the visual medium and admire directors and cinematographers who can enrich the world with unique and visceral imagery which portends concepts, ideals or stories. After studying screen and media production at R.M.I.T in 2005, I worked as an editor at Babel Fish Studios in South Melbourne; a fledging video production company of no more than 5 employees. The experience was nevertheless invaluable as I learned Premier Pro’s complexities and began creating title animations and other motion graphics in After Effects. During this time I also worked as the in-house composer, as I have been a musician since my teens. In 2010 I moved to Berlin for a new experience and to break into the European market. I worked predominantly as a freelancer during this time as both an editor and videographer, creating corporate videos, fashion videos, promo and infomercials. I also became involved in the Berlin arts and music scene and was commissioned to create several short documentary pieces for several artists; most notably, a piece on abstract painter, Djuneid Dulloo. In 2011 I was hired by German film company, Lemon Face Films. There I worked with the DOP as a cinematographer for a number of video shoots; including music, promotional, short film and documentary videos. In 2012 I returned to Melbourne, Australia and completed a small business course, and soon after I launched my own video production business, Tiny Giant Films. Working with a small freelance team, we created corporate promo videos for companies such as Train 2 Learn, Coles, Second Bite, and ACL. In 2014 I freelanced for a production company, Propeller Productions in Wellington, NZ. I was tasked with the job of directing a unit for a VIP fashion event. My responsibilities included organising shots and coordinating the crew under the guidance of Andrew Simpson. Since then I have returned to freelance work under my own banner The Film Inside as a sole trader. I enjoy the freedom of working as a freelancer as it allows me the opportunity to work on different projects, such as my recent work with Social Blue, creating product photos and video of hearing aid devices for Audika.
