My passion for the environment began as a child during visits to Disney World, where I was inspired by the immersive educational experiences about conservation and sustainability. This early spark stayed with me, eventually leading me to pursue a double major in Environmental Studies and Communications at The University of Kansas. While at KU, I focused on bridging these two fields to communicate environmental concepts effectively to diverse audiences, whether individuals, groups, stakeholders, or companies. My capstone project with the Prairie Park Nature Center in Lawrence, Kansas, was a highlight of my studies. My team and I collaborated to revitalize their education program, and our efforts were recognized with an outstanding presentation award at the undergraduate symposium. After graduation, I applied my education in the real world as an intern with the Tennessee Department of Transportation’s Clean Cities Coalition, working on sustainable transportation initiatives. Soon after, I realized a lifelong dream by returning to Orlando to work as a Conservation Education Presenter at Disney. This role allowed me to inspire and educate the next generation of environmentalists, coming full circle from the inspiration I first felt as a child at Disney World.I’m passionate about making environmental education impactful, accessible, and transformative, helping people of all backgrounds connect with and protect the world around them.
