I was appointed to produce and rescue the TV series Martin Shaw: Aviators for Discovery RealTime after it had initially been rejected and cancelled by the commissioning editor. I revived it by injecting a host of new ideas for contributors and items that appealed to the channel as well as to viewers. I worked closely with the TV star Martin Shaw (famed for The Professionals, Judge John Deed, and George Gently) and managed to land him a ride in a WW2 Spitfire amongst other treats.
